The thing that suprised me most is how Rudy is now acting toward his older sister Lena. Lena used to be the one to take care of Rudy when he was sick and protect him from a lot of things including his fathers harsh words and beatings. Now as I get deeper into the story I can see that Rudy is protecting his sister. Mostly because his father tells him its his job, but I think Rudy enjoys doing it or else he wouldn't have went out looking for her that night her father was looking for her.
